Forecasting with the Moon
A quick technique

Forecasting with lunations allows you to see daily events that only the Moon can sort out.  It's an important tool for predicting.
The Moon will kick off your greater or outer planet transits.
Whatever house the New Moon lands in (Placidus houses) is usually the focus for the month.
If the Moon makes an aspect to a planet, then  refer to the house the planet rules for the outcome of the aspect, e.g. A trine to the ruler of your second house works for going shopping and getting what you want, perhaps at a discount.
The eclipse new moons tend to give more intensity to the events forecasted.
Thoughts from Carolyn Egan, Long-range Weather Forecaster.

Interpreting Lunar Returns
What to look for

Key: LR = Lunar Return    Asc = Ascendant
Tip :  Read Planets and signs in keyword fashion - this helps keep it simple.

Cast a LR chart for your present location and place this in the centre of a bi-wheel, with the Natal chart on the outside.

The Natal house that comes to the Asc. of the LR chart is the focus for the month - read the sign on the Asc. in keyword fashion.

The Moon's house is where the greatest changes are taking place, and these changes will come about through the LR house with Cancer on the cusp
Personal action for the month will be where the natal Asc. falls in the LR chart
Public action for the month will be where the natal MC falls in the LR.
The LR house where the natal Sun falls is what you are concerned with on a deep level.
Pay particular attention to any planets either natal or return that fall on an angle - allow 3° orb.
For timing - follow the transiting Moon around the chart, noting the LR  house it is passing through, and when the Moon conjoins a planet in the LR chart, note the planet's meaning and the aspects it makes to other planets in the LR chart. When the transiting Moon is passing through a sign and not conjoining a planet in the LR - look to the sign's ruler, and the meaning of the planet and it's aspects, and what it is trying to convey in relation to the LR house the Moon is transiting.
Basically you are only be reading the LR chart, but with the natal chart on the outside, you can see 'where it's coming from'. This means that
-- the sign ruler, or the planet being conjoined by the transiting Moon is the action
-- the house is where the action is taking place
-- aspects denote what affects that action
-- the natal position in the LR chart tells where it's coming from.
A Lunar Return where the angles are the same as the natal chart tends to be an important month.

Void-of-Course Moon
When is the Moon VOC?

The Moon is void-of-course when it has made its last exact aspect in a sign and is soon to move into the next one.

Moon energy is uninfluenced, unfocused, and it is generally said of anything that is attempted during these times that "nothing will come of it".

This is a good time to tie up loose ends, and deal with unfinished business. It's also a time for study, exploration and meditation.
