Progressed Planets in Retrograde

When planets make a station, turning either direct or retrograde in your progressed chart, the zodiacal position of the station lingers as a sensitive point in your chart. Thus, even after the planet has moved away from the position you will find that transits or other progressions to that position can trigger events. (pg 147)

Life principles represented by retogade planets are more likely to express themsevles upon an individual's inner level as deeper facets of his character that are not easily observed on the surface (pg 187)
The principles represented by a retrograde planet require less conscious involvement in the outer world. They seek more reflective, contemplative experience to work out the planet's urges ... It seems that these planets respond in a passive manner regarding external activities ... Although highly receptive to inner currents, they are apt to be reluctant to demostrate thir capacity freely upon the surface of life affairs. (pg 188-9)
If the individual has four or more planets retrograde (especially when they are personal planets ...) he may begin life internalizing many of his urges. He may become more attentive to his subjective world. (pg 189)
Some constructive key words for retrograde planets : meditative, profound, inner strength, humility, subtle, spiritual power (pg 191-2)

These retrograde cycles always indicate the need and opportunity for review. Sometimes this review is of an actual relationship and whether or not one's personal needs are being met in the relationship. At other times, the review may be of a financial and material sort ... (pg 162)
If Venus becomes retrograde shortly after the return period, there may be two or three Venus Returns within a short interval, and this phenomenon represents circumstances of special note. If there are three returns, this individual is already heavily involved and caught up quite instensely in a Venus-governed issue. (pg 163)

Interpreting Retrogrades
|
|
Three ways...
|
- Take the point of view that the retrograde planet shows areas of life that bring extra life lessons. For example, your retrograde Neptune in Scorpio could be saying that you need more emphasis in learning to trust your intuition, to go with the flow, or to be willing to look beneath the surface of people and events.
- If you're a believer in past lives, retrogrades can be interpreted as areas that were either neglected or
misused in the past. So, the Neptune in Scorpio could mean an abuse of psychic abilities.
- Lastly, it could mean that one's brain is hardwired differently. Frequently, people with retrogrades tend to repeat experiences, require repetition in order to learn or are somewhat repetitive in their speech.
