Astrology and the Public of South Africa
Suggestions 1-5

1.       We need to provide information and opportunities to those members of the public who are generally interested in astrology, enabling them to understand more about what astrology really is. An increased “astrology literacy” among the public will create an increased respect for birth-chart interpretations, and for the study of astrology.

2.       I would like to see more reporting about astrology in the media

3.       Organise talks and events aimed at the interested public, presenting topics of public interest, and using our own astrologers. This will give our astrologers valuable experience in public speaking and teaching.

4.       March 21 of each year is International  Astrology Day. I would like to see South African astrologers in every city planning  a programme of events aimed at the public, aimed at improving the public perception of astrology

5.       We need a public website where astrologers and apprentice astrologers can comment, sell books, do readings, offer freebee readings – so that the public can get to know who the astrologers are. The website should also provide interpretations for individuals on moon phases, eclipses, retrogrades, conjunctions. We need our own Astro.com

Astrology and the Public of South Africa
Suggestions 6-10

6.       Astrologers always seem to be scattered around but being affiliated to a group at least helps guide the public and strengthen the perception of astrologers

7.       What really catches the public eye is prediction, future prediction is the hardest thing of all.

8.       We need more political comment and prediction – e.g. when will the global recession end. When will Mutably go. How will the country shape under Zuma

9.       Astrology has to re-invent the way it presents to the public, the end user. The more end users you can attract, the more clients you will have, the more astrologers you will make. It can snow ball. It actually has to, otherwise astrologers are not doing some part of their job properly in some way. Maybe this can be undertaken as a national project, and not only as a regional one

10.   I would like to be secure in the knowledge that astrology is a well-established, self-regulated and respected practice in South Africa
