Events, Talks and Workshops
Sugestions 1-9

1.       Use local astrologers to teach on specific topics, to give them the opportunity to develop as speakers, and to share what they know.

2.       As a starting point, get 12 speakers for the year, and then having a monthly meetings and a fixed venue

3.       I would love regular meetings to continue preferably with Astrologers from all of Cape Town, hence a central venue.

4.       Regular, well-presented practical  workshops on specific topics e.g. writing sun-sign columns, business skills, counselling

5.       We need to keep things simple and organise talks well in advance.

6.       Support for the work that Argo does, so that there can be more of the quality programmes that have already presented

7.       Small group meetings in different parts of Cape Town/Western Cape, in areas close to where a number of astrologers live – held at an informal venue, e.g. someone’s home. All astrologers should know about all of these informal meetings, so that those who would like to attend any or all of them may do so. When there’s a really good topic or speaker, maybe the same speaker would be willing to address all the different groups?

8.        I believe we need to simply draw up a program of 12 speakers for the year, reserve a venue, and simply start our monthly meetings.   I think we could divide astrology into themes for the year; beginner, traditional, modern, esoteric/philosophy.

9.       Astrology book clubs. We don’t need a library any more. A library is costly and finding a venue to house it is a problem.

Events, Talks and Workshops
Suggestions 10-18

10.    Group meetings on the internet (e.g. Montana)

11.    Informal conversation groups and fun times together – Parties, cinema groups, dinners

12.    Study groups focusing on specific areas of knowledge relevant to astrology e.g. Vedic astrology; Astrocartography; Medieval astrology; Mundane astrology, etc.

13.    We don’t need a formal organisation with membership fees. Only professional astrologers need that.  A contribution should be made to the one who organises an informal meetings, and a more substantial payment made for bigger events when there is a special speaker or programme.

14.    Can we have a directory of astrology speakers – together with details of the topics they’re able to address, their contact details, and what they might charge?

15.    An annual calendar of astrology events – set out in advance – maybe from the Spring Equinox of each year – would help with planning. Google has an events calendar format that could be used to keep the information on the internet.

16.    We need to keep things simple and organise talks well in advance.

17.    I would like to see gatherings of astrologers (virtual and real) around various incidents for discussion and learning. For example the charts of countries like Israel and Pakistan - what do they say about the war? So my bit is to study current affairs, people and issues from an astrological point of view and thereby improve our science and craft, as well as making it relevant to more global issues.

18.  Panel discussions addressing particular issues in astrology
